Shahbaz Sharif Laptop Scheme: Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif commands HEC (Higher Education Commission) to restart the Shahbaz Sharif Laptop Scheme.
Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed, Chairman of the Higher Education Commission (HEC), have declared that the Prime Minister Laptop Scheme will be reinstated in the next few coming days.
The chairman also stated that the HEC will launch an online learning programme for students at Pakistani institutions, with help of Microsoft as well as other worldwide organisations.
The declaration emerges after the federal government, led by the Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N), declared the resumption of the historic Prime Minister Laptop Scheme as part of the Youth Development Programmes.
The government has appointed a committee to settle all topics, covering criterion and many others, under the supervision of the Chairman Higher Education Commission (HEC), Dr Mukhtar Ahmad.
The 14-member committee comprising the Executive Director of HEC, the Supplemental Finance Secretary (Budget) of the Government of Pakistan, a representative of the Planning and Development Division, Science and Technology, the Secretary Higher Education Departments of Punjab, Sindh, Balochistan, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, as well as a representative from the National Information Technology Board (NITB).
