Tim Cook was emphatic that Apple has never contemplated doing that too. Elon Musk also shared a video of “Apple’s stunning Headquarters” in Cupertino, California, and said he had a “nice talk” with Cook.
Apple did not respond to calls for clarification from AFP. The world’s wealthiest man launched an attack on the world’s most valuable brand earlier this week regarding App Store fees & guidelines, claiming Apple had threatened to expel his freshly bought social networking site.
According to the multi-billion CEO, Apple “threatened to remove Twitter from its App Store, but didn’t reveal to everyone why.” Apple, which has not yet published a public remark on the topic, normally notifies developers if application modifications are required to comply with App Store regulations.
According to AFP, the conflict may have been over finance, with Musk irritated that the App Store charges a fee on purchases like subscription fees. Elon Musk reportedly postponed the launching of the Twitter Blue membership option, which was planned to charge users for privileges like an account verification checkmark badge.
Twitter launched “Twitter Blue” in early November, however, it was yanked when scammers paid for Twitter Blue Verification Badge to seem authentic, in what former director of safety and security Yoel Roth called a “catastrophe.”
Apple and Google both require social networking services in their respective application stores to have robust processes in place to moderate hazardous or offensive material.
However, after taking over Twitter last month, Elon Musk has laid off roughly 50% of the company’s staff, along with several employees charged with combating misinformation, and an unspecified number more have left.
He has also restored previously suspended profiles, especially ex – president Donald Trump’s. Elon Musk, who describes himself as a “free speech authoritarian,” thinks that all legal information should be allowed on Twitter and has described his activities as a “popular uprising over censorship of the internet in United.”
